Religious Leaders
Buddhism has many sects (religious groups) and schools so there is no single religious leader.
The leaders are the teachers - Dharma instructors, Zen Masters, Dalai Lama or the Munshu.
Siddhartha Gautama was the first Buddha and the founding leader of Buddhism. The two most influential Buddhist leaders today are His Holiness The Dalai Lama, Thich Nhat Hanh of Vietnam and Dharma Master Cheng of Taiwan.
A sangha is a monastic community of ordained Buddhist monks or nuns. It is lead by a president and also has a council.
